Why Justin Dingwall is one of the South African visual artists you need to know about

His work is obsessive.

South African visual artist Justin Dingwall,  is pure brilliance. Dingwall is one of the only two photographers from Africa who were selected for the prestigious 2018 Voies Off Awards which takes place in Arles, France. The awards give visibility to contemporary visual artists and with his great work, we are not surprised Dingwall made it.

His work has been featured in magazines all over South Africa, Africa, and the world, with his recent feature being in Vogue Italia. What we absolutely dig about Dingwall is his versatility and inclusion of everyone in his visual art. In all his pictures and art Dingwall makes Africa look so damn good. Going through his photos gives you a euphoric feeling and you automatically become a Stan.

Here are a few of our favorite images from Ding, it was very hard to pick just a few;

A picture from is Albus series.

From his recent Vogue Italia feature.

Model, lawyer and activist Thando Hopa was also part of his Albus series.

From his series Fly By Nights.

We love this shot.
