She’s a sweetheart

Having recently met the rapper, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that she is such a sweetie! If you haven’t encountered the “Nah Mean” rap star in person, you can see her fun and down to earth nature in her interview with Slikour On Life, below.

Her surname is not Nakai

You’ll be shook to know that Nadia‘s surname is, in fact, Kandava. Nakai is her second name. But we guess you can call her Bragga!

Shimza to give shoes to hundreds of Orphans

Philanthropist, DJ and Producer, Shimza will be handing over school shoes to hundreds of orphaned children from Tembisa at the Rabasotho Hall in Tembisa on Tuesday 16th January.

This is made possible by his annual One Man Show which was in it’s 9th year in 2017, 25 December. The show saw the likes of AKA, Black Motion, Riky Rick, Cassper Nyovest, Nadia Nakai, Moozlie, Reason, Heavy K and Sjava among many others performing for the party-loving crowd at Mehlareng Stadium. A percentage of proceeds from the show goes to buying school shoes for orphaned children In Tembisa, whom Shimza hosted a daytime party for on Christmas day.

Thank you for supporting my One Man Show, today we bought 1500 school shoes for the kids in my community, progress from last years 400. The dream is to one day do 10 times more. You guys did this, thank you thank you thank you!

Shimza’s One Man Show RETURNS

The official countdown has begun, Shimza is hosting his ninth annual One Man Show at Mehlareng stadium in Tembisa on the 25th December.  With only six days left, the biggest Christmas celebration featuring supreme talent, the likes of Cassper Nyovest, AKA, Riky Rick, Black Motion, Sjava, Lady Zamar, Nadia Nakai, Moozlie, EMTee and with hosts Somizi and Skhumba.

This year’s show is bigger and better with a percentage of its proceeds assisting orphaned children from Tembisa with school uniform. Shimza’s heart for people and the underprivileged is commendable and he strives to make an impact not only in his community but in various parts of the country.

Having recently announced dropping the prefix to his name, formerly known as DJ Shimza, he now only goes by the name Shimza. He has also released a new EP titled Ascendent with Swedish label Cadenza Records, his second international release, following the success of Destino under Djoon – a French label. Destino was later remixed by the legendary Kytronic from New York. The EP has not features and showcases Shimza’s musical prowess and his limitless mixing abilities with slick production skills. The opening track Congo Congo is a dark ride over abysmal tom-tom drums, lively percussions and a gloomy bass lead. Other songs on the EP include Congo Congo Dub Mix, Secret Melodies and Selector.

Shimza is a METRO FM DJ and is one of the most sought-after DJs with flourishing international careers, with frequent shows in places such as Portugal, Spain, Greece, Angola and London among many parts of the world. A hit-maker, whose debut album Shimuzic did very well, featuring hits singles “African Woman” and Akulalwa”.

With the hip hop game evolving every year we hear new sound almost every day and new artist dropping single everyday but Jub Jub has managed to stay relevant with his unique flow and ability to play around with words has kept him at the top of his game for the past  years.

The Soweto born rapper is about to reclaim his reign in the hip hop game with his brand new single titled Shooting Star. The song is produced by Jameela aka J-Ross and it features a young artist from the East Rand who goes by the name of Law.

In this brand new single Jub Jub is giving praise to the likes of AKA, OkMalumKoolKat, Cassper Nyovest, K.O and all the female rappers like Nadia Nakia and Hip Hop DJs for changing the game. His latest track was inspired by the potential for more growth in the industry.

He is also working on his much-anticipated album patiently pioneering his craft to another level, setting up his trademark in the Hip Hop game and the album is scheduled to be dropping in September.

Axe Deodorant Teams Up With Dj Black Coffee!

Last week the beautiful people of Edelman invited us to be part of the amazing collaboration in the streets of Braamfontein at Thirteen Avenue where they revealed what their latest project.

What is the project?

AXE, the world’s number one deodorant and fragrance brand; and internationally award-winning DJ Black Coffee, are proud to announce an historic partnership to find and showcase Africa’s top house music talent on an international stage – Ibiza.

How do people enter or get involved in this project?

All aspiring DJs need to do to enter is upload their entry track to AXECESS.com, and share how they have found their magic. A team of judges including Black Coffee will evaluate the tracks, and narrow down the entries. Five DJ finalists, hand-picked by Black Coffee will compete head-to-head at a send-off party in August, with the winner claiming a slot to perform with other African winners and Black Coffee at a historic all-African event at Ibiza super club Hi Ibiza in September.

And for the fans…

AXE is also giving super-fans the chance to win an all-expenses-paid VIP trip to AXECESS IBIZA. All they have to do is buy any AXE product, dial the USSD code and follow the prompts.
