Say what?! Kylie Jenner’s fans are donating money to make her a billionaire

KylieEverybody knows and loves the Kardashian/Jenner clan, and aside from swatching new lipsticks on her Snapchat story daily, the youngest sister, Kylie Jenner, has just made history. Like, actual history.

The 20-year-old has just made Forbes’ list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women (coming in at number 27) thanks to her makeup brand, Kylie Cosmetics.

Since she launched it just two years ago (can you believe it was that recent?), she has sold over $630million (£475million) worth of cosmetics – that is A LOT of matte liquid lipsticks.

That also means she is worth more than sister, Kim Kardashian, and even Beyoncé who are valued at around $350million, which isn’t too shabby either.

According to Forbes, if Jenner carries on growing Kylie Cosmetics at the rate she has, she will become the youngest self-made billionaire in HISTORY, overtaking Mark Zuckerberg, who became a billionaire at 23. You go, girl.

But Kylie still has a little way to go and needs to make a casual $100m before she beats the Facebook founder. And it seems her fans are so desperate to help their idol reach her goal that they’ve set up a GoFundMe page called ‘Let’s Get Kylie Jenner to a Billion.’

The page reads: “Kylie Jenner was on the cover of Forbes Magazine today for having a net worth of 900 million dollars, which is heartbreaking. I don’t want to live in a world where Kylie Jenner doesn’t have a billion dollars. WE MUST RAISE 100 MILLION DOLLARS TO HELP HER GET TO A BILLION, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD, THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.”

This is not a drill, people.

So far, 131 people have donated to the cause and raised £1,853 towards Kylie’s bank balance.

Is this real life?

Forbes defines a self-made woman as “anyone who didn’t inherit any part of their money.” And while technically this is true and Kylie has built a cosmetics empire alone, it definitely helped that she’s spent her life in the limelight as part of one of the most well-known families in America.

According to the profile, “Basically, all Jenner does to make all that money is leveraged her social media following.” The following being 110 million followers on Instagram alone, which, in part, will have been down to her family’s status.

Kylie has become Forbes’ latest cover star and said in an Instagram post: “It’s incredible to be recognised for something I’m so passionate about, and I’m really grateful for that. I’ve always loved makeup and worked really hard to bring the first lip kit to market.”

“Connecting with my fans and creating products that excited them has been an incredible process. I’ve learned so much along the way and I hope to inspire others to follow their dreams.”

Yaaas, girl power!

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott only spend ‘couple of days’ apart

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott have made a pact that they only spend a few days a week away from each other.

Kylie travis

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott never spend more than a “couple of days” apart.

The ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star took her five-month-old daughter Stormi to Hawaii to visit her father while he’s working on his new album last week and, although it was only a flying visit, the coupe have made a pact that they will see each other at least once a week to ensure their family unit remains strong and stable.

A source told E! News: “Travis and Kylie took Stormi to the beach and hung out together while relaxing as a family before Travis started working hardcore on his album. The couple are really good about managing their schedules and have only had a few days away from each other at a time ever since Stormi was born.”

The couple – who have been together since April 2017 – were rocked by paternity questions and claims when Stormi was born because the 20-year-old beauty fell pregnant shortly after splitting with her long-term on/off boyfriend Tyga.

But, after a DNA test proved that the 26-year-old rapper was the little one’s biological father, the pair have tried really hard to build a “great” relationship and a family.

An insider explained: “Kylie and Travis are very much obsessed with the family they have created and are in a really great place in their relationship. Kylie is very supportive of Travis’ music and [making] sure he has a work/family balance with her and Stormi. Kylie plans on attending several of Travis’ upcoming concerts with Stormi and wants to make sure the family is together as one unit as much as possible.”

This isn’t the first time Kylie has taken her little girl out of the US to visit her father while he’s working as she previously jetted across to Nice, France, with Stormi while the ‘Butterfly Effect’ hitmaker took to the stage at the Cannes Lions Festival.

Kylie Jenner pierced 5-month-old Stormi’s ears, and people have a lot of feelings about it

Kylie JennerAnother day, another fierce Internet debate about almost-billionaire Kylie Jenner. Moving on from conversations about whether or not she should be described as “self-made” and her lip filler, people have turned their focus on a new thing: her daughter’s pierced ears.

Yesterday Jenner uploaded a video to Snapchat of herself giving kisses to her daughter, Stormi Webster, and eagle-eyed viewers soon noticed that the five-month-old has pierced ears. As with all things Kardashian-Jenner, people were not afraid to share their opinions about this online. But babies with pierced ears have been a hot topic for years, one that bubbles up every time a celebrity is involved. See also: Gisele Bündchen, Angelina Jolie, Kim Kardashian West, and, yes, even Beyoncé—who took some heat for Blue Ivy having pierced ears at age two.

In the case of Stormi’s ears, Twitter users are particularly fired up for a debate. Some argue that parents should wait until the child can decide for herself whether or not she wants her ears pierced, while others worried about inflicting pain on a baby.

Others defended Kylie Jenner’s decision by pointing out that in many cultures it’s a common tradition to pierce a baby’s ears. “For Latina moms, piercing their baby girls’ ears has nothing to do with vanity,” Roxana Soto, author of Bilingual Baby, told today.com all the way back in 2013—proving the debate is not just a Kylie thing. “It’s simply a cultural tradition. So much so that I freaked out when I learned my first child was a girl because I had no idea where I would take her to get her ears pierced.”

However, another issue some have taken with ear piercing at a young age is that it’s a very gendered decision to make for another person before they’re able to consent themselves. The tweets below were written before Stormi’s piercing, but are a good example of the argument against:

Wherever you fall on the Kylie-stan spectrum, it’s safe to assume she’s taking great care of her daughter—and her newly pierced ears.

Kylie Jenner is on track to be the youngest self-made billionaire in history

Kylie JennerKylie Jenner has long been fodder for tabloid headlines. From her lip injections to her decision to have a baby at 20, the youngest of the Jenner-Kardashian sisters take the hits. But as Forbes reveals in its latest cover feature, “America’s Women Billionaires,” Jenner has been too busy bringing in the cash from her makeup line, Kylie Cosmetics, to notice. In fact, the magazine estimates she’s currently pacing to be the youngest self-made billionaire ever—male or female.

“Even using a conservative multiple, and applying our standard 20 percent discount, Forbes values her company, which has since added other cosmetics like eyeshadow and concealer, at nearly $800 million,” Forbes explained, importantly noting that Jenner herself maintains 100 percent ownership over all of it. By the time the mogul turns 22 years old next year, it predicts she’ll have hit the billion-dollar threshold—a milestone not even Mark Zuckerberg achieved until age 23.

Given her success, it’s wild to think Jenner began Kylie Cosmetics only two years ago with a single product: the Kylie Lip Kit, which consisted of a liquid lipstick and a matching lip liner for $29. Since its launch, the company has sold more than $630 million worth of makeup. She brought in $18 million in a single day when she dropped her holiday collection in 2016.

“Social media is an amazing platform,” Jenner said of how she’s grown her business. “I have such easy access to my fans and my customers.”

What makes it all the more impressive is that she’s not the first member of the Kardashian family to start a beauty brand. In 2012 Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé Kardashian collectively launched a brand called Khroma Beauty. However, almost immediately after the brand’s launch, it was sucked into legal controversy (among somewhat lacklustre sales) and was pulled from shelves by 2013. While the other sisters have since gone on to launch fairly successful beauty products, none have even come close to Jenner’s success. (Kim’s KKW Beauty, which launched in June last year, is estimated to have brought $100 million in revenue, so far.)

Makeup isn’t the only way Jenner is raking in the dough, though. She’s also got millions coming in thanks to her near lifetime involvement on E!’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians, as well as her endorsement deals with brands like Puma and PacSun. This, Forbes says, places her entire net worth somewhere around $900 million.

Many people on social media, however, have mixed feelings about whether Jenner’s famous family ties qualify her to be considered “self-made”—despite the magazine’s defining it as “anyone who didn’t inherit any part of their money.” As one Twitter user wrote, “What Kylie Jenner did with her company is amazing but don’t act like she started from the bottom. There’s millions of people with businesses that fail because they just can’t find the funds.”

Even the Dictionary chimed in:

What there’s no denying, though, is that Jenner is now the richest in her entire household. According to Time, her supermodel older sister Kendall is worth an estimated $18 million. Khloé Kardashian’s worth, it’s estimated, sits around $40 million, while Kourtney’s bank account is apparently sitting on $35 million. As for Kim, the women who without question rocketed the Kardashian-Jenner family to fame, she’s worth an estimated $350 million thanks to her television show, endorsements, mobile game, and KKW Beauty.
Truly, after following in many of her elder sisters’ footsteps, it appears Jenner has exemplified the saying “the student becomes the master.”

Stormi Webster already has more shoes than I do

stormiAt five months old, Stormi Webster is already dressing like a true member of the Kardashian-Jenner fam. Kylie Jenner recently showed off her daughter’s closet on Snapchat, and she has quite the shoe collection, to put it mildly. From the looks of the video, it seems as though Stormi’s shoes fill a six-level shoe rack.

The Daily Mail estimates that Stormi’s footwear is worth around $22,000 total, thanks to pieces like $1,000 Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and $275 Gucci flats, along with less pricey items like $50 Nike Air Force 1 sneakers. It’s only fitting for the daughter of a mom who wears $1,300 Balenciaga sock boots and a dad who designed his own Nikes.

“Stormi can finally fit into some of her sneakers,” Kylie said as she narrated the video. “Her dad gave her a bunch of vintage shoes. So, I’m about to see if she likes shoes. Too cute.”

Stormi’s impressive shoe collection is appropriate for her sophisticated fashion sense. She was recently spotted in a frilly white dress that matched her mom’s shirt for a trip to Turks and Caicos. Kylie has also wheeled Stormi around in a $12,500 Fendi stroller that coordinated with her own outfit. We’re sure the shoe collection is only one small piece of an equally glam wardrobe.

Kylie Jenner gave a fan a birthday gift that costs more than a new iPhone

Kylie JennerIt pays to be a Kylie Jenner fan. Johnny Cyrus, a longtime fan with a tattoo sleeve dedicated to Kylie, just received a $2,000 birthday gift from the social media celeb and cosmetics mogul, and we’re a little jealous, TBH.

Johnny turned 21 last week, and Kylie sent him a Louis Vuitton backpack to commemorate the occasion. He posted a pic of it to Instagram, writing: “Thank you @kyliejenner for the amazing birthday gift. It means so much me!” Kylie, of course, liked the photo. The backpack isn’t bad either; in fact, it’s totally amazing and we want one too. Good work, Kylie! You can see Johnny holding the bag alongside Kylie, which means she gave it to him in person when they last saw each other. So sweet!

Kylie and Johnny have been pals for a while; he’s got several Ky-themed tattoos, like lip kit swatches and one of Kylie rolling her eyes. He’s got basically all the merch Kylie has ever released — which is a lot! — and even owns a Greyhound like the star. He most recently came to visit Kylie at her latest pop up in San Francisco and posted a few cute pics of them together on his Insta; you can tell they’re pals and that Kylie really appreciates his support. Clearly, he’s her biggest fan and it shows in more than just his tattoos. P.S. Kylie, my birthday is in November — thanks in advance!

Thank you @kyliejenner for the amazing birthday gift 😍❤️ it means so much to me!

Kris Jenner’s Momager makeup collection for Kylie Cosmetics is everything

Kris JennerSocial media comes as naturally to the Kardashian-Jenners as contouring, which is why when Kylie Jenner’s Instagram for Kylie Cosmetics got hacked, it wasn’t random. Instead, it was Kris Jenner’s handiwork, as she later revealed in a series of cryptic posts. The occasion? Jenner was celebrating her first collaboration with Kylie Cosmetics, timed to Mother’s Day.

Because the Kardashian-Jenners don’t do anything small, the matriarch went as far as to change the Instagram handle of @kyliecosmetics to @kriscosmetics. Her first post on the page was a static screen showing Kylie’s name before flashing “hacking…” “Hi dolls,” Jenner wrote in the caption, “Ready for me to take over? guess who… 😉” Once the next video hit, though, it was immediately apparent who was behind it. Who else would step out of a Rolls-Royce to walk up to a gold throne with a black-and-white checkerboard background (just like the floors in Jenner’s home famously shown on Keeping Up With the Kardashians)?

hi dolls. ready for me to takeover? guess who.. 😉

“Hey guys.. it’s me! and oh, my collection drops on Mother’s Day,” reads the caption, in a stroke of the marketing savvy Jenner has become known for.

Fittingly, her collaboration with Kylie Cosmetics includes a “Momager” lip collection, which Jenner explained as “eight minis which are fabulous… Mattes, liquids, velvets!” She even swatched them, set to her son-in-law Kanye West’s 2005 classic “Gold Digger”—perhaps reassuring the world that there’s no lost love in the wake of his recent Twitter sprees. “My first time swatching,” she commented on Instagram stories, sharing the colour “Too Blessed.” “I’m using Kylie’s arm.”

It’s “Middle Finger,” a bright red, however, that’s Jenner’s favourite, as she revealed.

It may be the eyeshadow palette, though, that has the best names. The metallic grouping includes shades like “I Love Myself,” “Vodka Tonic,” “Haters,” “Payback’s a B-tch,” and “I’m Watching You.” Not to mention that the case includes the words “I have one word for tonight: Vodka.”

As if that wasn’t extra enough, Jenner also created a face palette, which, of course, features her face emblazoned across it. The most Kris Jenner thing of all about the Momager collection has to be the quote she printed on the back of her face palette, a reference to a viral moment early on in Keeping Up With the Kardashians when, at Kim’s Playboy shoot, she told her daughter, “You’re doing amazing, sweetie.” Is it any wonder Kylie recently quoted the Mean Girls line “I’m Not a Regular Mom, I’m a Cool Mom?” The apple doesn’t fall far from the Jenner.
