New local reality shows coming to our screens

Local entertainment industry is not here to play this year, coming out with a slew of great productions across all channels and collecting our favs as hosts  

The Remix SA

Moeti ‘Mo Flava’ Tsiki is returning to our television sets with a new reality show that promises to break or melt the hearts of music fans. The Remix SA, which takes cue from its international head, The Remix, sees ten groups, each made up of a trio of a vocalist, DJ/Producer and musical performer, will go head to head weekly for a spot on the number one seat

They will be creating remixes of songs within a given theme or musical genre, think Clash of the Choirs but for three people.

Mo Flava will be joined by local meanest and gorgeous vocalist, Kelly Khumalo and together, they will judge the various remixes produced as well as the performances given and each night, a group will be eliminated.

Show premiers on July 22nd on SABC 1.

This is Africa

Popular YouTubers, Sipho ‘Sipho Says’ Muchindu, Larry ‘Larryngitis’ Nhlane and Sphakamiso ‘Sphaka’ Ngonyama, aka the Microwave boys from TouchHD scored a television deal.

The trio will host the show on BET Africa, joined by a large panel featuring the likes of Nicole Nyaba, Sadie Wiggles and more.

TIA will focus on all type of topics and the panellists will try and make sense of them in an African context.

Show starts July 27.

Spirit of Mzansi

Funnyman, Mpho Popps joins the Mzansi Magic hosting family for a new reality car-related show, Spirit of Mzansi.

The show will see eight contenders broken into two teams, competing in the new Volkswagen Amarok Extreme. Each member of the team is vying for a chance of a big prize of R 250 000 grand prizeand faces elimination at the end of the race.

The show comes to Mzansi Magic on August 18.
